Review of Orient Yellow Mako Diver Watch CEM65001Y

September 25th, 2009 Posted in Orient Watch Reviews | 15 Comments

Dear Orient Watch,

I finally got my Yellow Mako from you guys. Just wanted to say I was surprised at how nice a watch the Mako truly is. I’m not sure why I am surprised anymore, this is my fourth Orient watch, and they are all excellent quality watches.

Keep making them this good, and sending me these great discounts through email, and I’ll keep buying them, and posting pictures of them at Watch U Seek forums.

Here is the picture I took today for the affordable section watch-u-wearing thread.

Another yellow diver is the OrientStar WZ0371FD which has a power reserve indicator.

I always had a love affair with wristwatches. As long as I can remember, I always wore one; as a child I had an electronic game watch, then a casio, a timex, many swatches, a coach, seiko, and many I forget. When I finally got married, I wanted a REAL watch or what I thought was a real watch at the time, a Breitling Quartz costing well over $1,000. The Breitling was my everyday watch until I discovered the Orient automatic. I think the Orient is just as good and even better (since it’s an automatic) than my Breitling. I currently own 2 Orients and I am planning on selling my Breitling so I can buy more Orients. Keep producing great watches, you’ve got a new admirer.

The yellow back ground would be helpful to people who can’t see well.

I just ordered the yellow face mako and am looking forward to testing the accuracy and quality. I have worn a Gruen with Swiss automaticmovement for the past 6 years. I am due for a new quality timepiece.

i really like this watch since it has a yellow “charming” dial plate. beside, comparing with mako II, this yellow mako 1 has orient logo on it’s crown, where there is not on mako II. this charming yellow is not sale in other country, especially in ours, hik hik hik. i really kind of upsad with this situation. Orient center Indonesia just sale on black dial, blue dial, and pepsi bezel only. the orange is very rare, and yellow is never been heard. i think collecting pictures of them is the only cure. any one help…..

The yellow MAKO is definitively a looker, the watch quality and finish is superb in regards to the case, dial and movement. Have not seen a match on the same price bracket. Only component that does not keep up with the cost/quality ratio are the bracelet lug ends. I own two makos (blue and black)and that is only detail I wish would change. I would certainly pay the difference for solid end lug ends.
