Orient’s CFT00004b is a striking watch and the perfect everyday timepiece. James Stacey of Watch Report recently completed a review of the automatic, in which the photographer and watch aficionado praised the watch for its readability, style and quality.

Read on to see why the characteristics of the CFT00004B entice watch gurus and novices alike:

Slick Style and Design

The CFT00004b’s stainless steel bracelet, which James Stacey praised as both “heavy” and “quiet,” strikes a beautiful contrast with its black watch face.

The bracelet clasp is a fold-over clasp with double push button and safety, and Stacey was especially fond of the “solid end-links, which [are] a great feature.”

The case measures in at 43.7 millimeters wide and 12.1 millimeters thick, a size that Stacey appreciates. He calls it “a nice thin case that sits off your wrist nicely.”

But this Orient automatic is more than a pretty face; it is also extremely easy to read, with “big pilot-style hands and a fairly large markers.” It has a semi-skeleton, or “open-heart dial,” to showcase the inner workings of the timepiece, and a power reserve indicator so you know exactly when your watch will run out of power.

An excellent example of casual elegance, the Orient CFT00004B functions as a great everyday watch. Watch Report‘s Stacey agrees, commenting that “you could probably wear it with any outfit at any time.”

Superior Quality and Value

In addition to its smooth design, this Orient automatic’s stainless steel case and solid stainless steel bracelet are not likely to incur damage. Additionally, the watch is water resistant up to 100m, meaning you can shower or swim without taking off your timepiece.

Additionally, the watch has a sapphire watch crystal, a scratch-resistant, transparent cover that protects the watch face during daily activity.

According to Stacey, the Orient’s 46R40 in-house movement is “quite accurate.” And the best part is, Orient’s stylish, high-quality automatic costs only $600.

Available on the Orient Watch site, this timepiece is backed up by a 1-year warranty that includes US-based service & maintenance. With all of this in mind, the Orient CFT00004B is an investment you won’t regret.

After looking at quite a lot of watches, this one sang to my engineer soul. The combination of a functional slide rule, power meter, visible movement, and high quality construction is very cool. I like collecting beautifully engineered and crafted objects, and this qualifies.
