Orient’s CFM00001B: A Feature-rich Watch

Also known as the “Planet Orient,” Orient’s CFM00001B is more than just a timepiece.

In addition to what we’ve all come to expect from Orient mechanical watches (superior style, fit and quality), the CFM00001B has some unique functions that set it apart.

Read on to learn about them:

Skeleton Caseback

Like all Orient Watch USA watches, the CFM00001B’s case is made of stainless steel. Stainless steel is commonly used in watchmaking because of its durability, sturdiness and corrosion-resistance. Stainless steel is also easy to clean and polish.

The watch’s screw caseback is superior to the regular snap caseback because it helps keep water out of the case. In addition to durability, this watch’s case also has a cool feature: a skeleton caseback.

The back of CFM00001B’s case, which is branded with the Orient logo, is made of a transparent material that allows the wearer and friends to witness the intricate movement that powers the watch.

The tachymeter measures speed based on time traveled, or distance based on speed. It can also measure productivity by converting seconds per unit to units per hour.

Sound worthless for your lifestyle?

Think again: you can also use your tachymeter to calculate pulse or the speed of your car.

To calculate distance traveled:

  1. Maintain a constant speed
  2. Rotate the tachymeter to align with the second sweep hand at the start of the distance to be measured
  3. Watch the sweep second hand; once it reaches the number equal to the speed your car is going, you’ve traveled 1 unit (e.g. mile, kilometer)

On top of being a useful gadget, the tachymeter looks cool, too.

Power Reserve Indicator

Perhaps one of the most useful features a watch can have, a power reserve indicator lets you know how many hours of power your watch has left by showing the tension on the mainspring at any particular moment. For a watch to function optimally, it should be at least 30% wound.

The CFM00001B has power reserve indicator just below 12 o’clock to keep you informed and keep your watch running smoothly.

If you’re on the market for a feature-rich, stylish timepiece, look no further—the CFM00001B is your watch. Priced at only $365, it epitomizes value by giving you the most bang for your buck.

Bought the blue version with the leather band when you had the DOD. Great looking watch and keeps accurate time.
