Look closely and you’ll see the interesting large, textured dial, which successfully brings out the other characteristics of the watch.

For example, the semi-skeleton hole at the 9 o’clock position shows more vibrantly in contrast with the textured blend. You can see the inner mechanics of the watch through this semi-skeleton hole.

The CFHAA002B is one of Orient’s automatic, also known as self-winding mechanical watch, which means it never needs batteries. Same time and keep track of it accurately with a watch powered by the motion of your wrist

Thanks to the luminescent hand you can view your watch, even during the
night.

And of course, this watch’s water-resistant feature prevents water from entering the case for up to 50 meters.

If you look at the side of the watch, you will notice two things. First, the case has a beautiful dome crystal …

… and second, the crown (time-setting knob) has shoulders to protect it.

On the back of the watch there is an exhibition caseback through which you can view the rotor (semi-circular piece that pivots back-and-forth) and the rest of the mechanics of this beautiful timepiece.

I find the CFHAA002B to be a very elegant, stylish watch that hearkens back to the yesteryears of half a century ago. Its timeless expression would make a very fine gift for fathers today. You hear that kids?

  3. By DKlein on Jun 20, 2010

This is a fantastic watch, but will you include a winder? :-)

  4. By Jeff on Jun 20, 2010

yesteryears? Come on now. It’s a nice watch to wear on weekends but its not a timeless expression. Doubt the red accent on the strap was the style half a century ago. Leather straps are hit or miss for comfort.

The more you look at this watch the more great details become apparent, starting with the tonneau case that conjures up the 1930s and 40s, the power reserve tucked away beneatht the 12, the open heart that offers a glimpse into the movement, the red sub-dial hands and the matching red stitching on the band. Even details not obvious to the casual observer, like the elegant deployant clasp and the exhibition back. This is an exceptionally beautiful design!

I own 4 automatic watches. All 4 orient. All 4
semi skeleton. Any company can make a quartz watch. But there is something different about a mechanical watch. To put all those parts in such a small space with such beauty. For all around quality and looks you can’t beat a orient.
