You must not be intimidated by the complex functions of this watch. People find this CFT00007Y watch to be special, because it combines the quality of a sporty look with the value of intricate design.

You will notice that this semi-skeleton has 7 holes. Within these holes you
are able to see the mechanisms that operate watch. One feature of this timepiece
that is unique is that this watch has a slide rule. This means that the owner is
able to turn the inner bezel (the ring of the watch) so that it could perform
such functions as multiplication, division, addition, subtraction, currency
conversion, and distance conversion. This can be done by rotating the crown
(time-setting piece) located on the 4 o’clock indicator.

This semi-skeleton dial has luminescent time indicators as well as hour
indicators. This allows for the owner to view the time during the evening.
Another interesting feature of this watch is that it is water resistant up to
100 meters.

Located near the 6 o’clock position is the power reserve indicator, which
allows for you to measure the stored power in the spring of the watch in units
of hours. Since this watch is a mechanical watch, it is powered by the spring of
the watch; therefore, the watch will power itself for up to 40 hours when it is
being worn.

You will notice that this watch comes with a sapphire crystal. This basically
means that the glass used in this watch is equipped with a more scratch- and
shatter-resistant material.

Unlike other men’s watches by Orient, the time-changing crown for this particular
piece is located at the 9 o’clock indicator.

Two facts about the crowns that you might find interesting are that they are
both screw down (which means they keep water from entering the case), and that
they each have the Orient logo. Be sure to check out the other styles of this watch like the CFT00001B.

If you look at the back of the watch, you will see that it is an exhibition
caseback. This allows for you to view the complex mechanics that power this
watch.

By looking into the caseback glass, you can view the rotor (semi-circular
piece that pivots back-and-forth), which is dressed with the official Orient
logo stamp on it.

The band comes in solid stainless steel. The first two links are tapered
followed by untapered links.

Another interesting characteristic is that the band has both matte and
finished links to provide a two-tone variation to the watch.

The metal band also comes with the double-locking deployment clasp that gives

I love this watch! This is the one I have been waiting to add to my collection during the next big sale or DOD!! While I’ve never been a big fan of the skeleton watches, there is just something about this one for me.

  3. By mdub on Aug 9, 2009

I LOVE this watch. If I could win one, I’d be a happy, happy man. I have it in white on the way, but this is just breathtakingly beautiful and sporty. This is the coolest, best looking semi-skeleton watch out there, hands down.

  4. By BaiBai on Aug 9, 2009

    It does math!

  5. By Frank In Miami on Aug 9, 2009

I just received my brand new CFT00004B (Dark grey dial version of the watch featured here) ordered from Orient Watch USA last week. This watch is AMAZING! Absolutely stunning in every possible way.

    Here are my initial impressions:

    http://forums.watchuseek.com/showthread.php?t=292821

I can’t stop looking at the movement from the skeleton windows in the dial.

This is without a shade of a doubt, one of Orient’s best models.

Another masterpiece by Orient. Big thanks go out to Joey and Mark for hooking me up with this beautiful timepiece. You guys are the best!

  6. By Douglas on Aug 9, 2009

I’m disappointed that the discount offered by the DoD is becoming less and less by the day. A guy without a disposal income in this economy is feeling disenfranchised.

  7. By Dan on Aug 9, 2009

Is this the same 21 jeweled 21600VPH movement used in most Orient watches?

  8. By george Peck on Aug 9, 2009

    Nice looking watch.

  9. By Eric on Aug 9, 2009

Great watch, but I have to agree with Douglas. There is an Oris at Costco that I’ve got my eye on that is a better discount than this watch. I hate to sound like a broken record but… Make the DOD an actual deal!!! Sell your watches at a deeper discount and get more watches out on the street. Remember you are new to this country. Word of mouth is priceless, and your watches attract attention. Infiltrate and destroy! just supply your foot soldiers with the ammo they need. I have recieved numerous comments from friends and strangers about my Orients. I wish I could afford more watches to spread the word about. I know I constantly compalin about pricing, but you guys truly do have a great product.

  10. By Stephen Santoro on Aug 9, 2009

I have to agree with the above comments in regards to price. I purchased this watch the last time it was offered as a DOD and it was $131 ($289) cheaper. Also, you can buy this watch on Amazon (Official USA retailer) for $1 less than this current DOD offer. How can this be considered a “deal” if its no different than current market price.

  11. By rayray on Aug 9, 2009

Very nice watch, and I have to agree one of the nicer Orient watches offered here in the states. The large hands are a nice touch as is the slide-rule and clearly marked bezel. Very fond of the black model with the green accent.

  12. By Frank In Miami on Aug 9, 2009

Dan, this watch uses caliber 46R40 movement. 21 Jewels, in-house movement and yes 21.6 oscillations per hour.

  13. By Todd on Aug 9, 2009

Wow, what a watch. Has pretty much everything you could want and then some. I love the color and the huge skeleton window. Very nice looking!

  14. By RobG on Aug 9, 2009

I like it, but don’t love it.
The skeletonized windows seem to be random cutouts and appear a little messy. I’m a neat and orderly kinda guy…just not floating my boat. Case and bezel look great. I’d like to see more “rice bead” bands too…kind of like 100% of the middle links on yesterday’s DOD.

  15. By RobG on Aug 9, 2009

Forgot to mention the crown locations…good idea to put them where they are on this watch. :) 4 o’clock crowns make sense.

  16. By Vladimir on Aug 9, 2009

I always liked this unique crown position on this watch. It is a nice watch, but is a little overpriced this time around. Great timepiece, ORIENT.

  17. By Andre on Aug 9, 2009

Well, this is the first Orient Watch that I’m really willing to buy. I would prefer the black version if it was available, but this yellow one is still a beautiful piece.

For $420, thou, it faces a pretty tough competition.

  18. By Frank In Miami on Aug 9, 2009

I think skeleton watches are a bit of an acquired taste. They are not everyone’s cup of tea.

I think Orient did a terrific job with this particular one. It is a refreshing design approach, again, not for everybody.

Regarding the DOD pricing posts…. Seems to me some price conditioning has taken place and folks find it hard to accept 30% discounts as the new “50% off”. Nope, doesn’t work for DODs.

I think the baseline discount for any given DOD should be 40% off at the very minimum. Lower than that you are competing head on against your very own authorized dealers (Namely Amazon and Long Island Watch)….Catch my drift?

Don’t give the grey market EBay sellers the opportunity they have been waiting for.

In this depressed global economy, most folks that want excellent quality watches no longer have the funds or desire to sink hundreds and thousands of Dollars onto a single piece. I believe Orient has successfully capitalized on the current financial situation by positioning themselves as providers of top quality watches at prices anyone can afford. Don’t deviate from this formula guys. World of mouth and reputation are far more valuable than losing 10%-20% profit on each watch sold.

Happy customers = return customers for years to come.

  19. By steve on Aug 9, 2009

I’d really like to buy this watch, but I feel this is no where near a DOD. Come on guys, where’s the DEAL? This model could be had elsewhere for $300. I want to support and buy all my Orients from orientwatchusa.com, but at this price I’ll pass and purchase from another vendor instead. Sorry.

  20. By Gary on Aug 12, 2009

I hope that you listen to the market regarding your DOD pricing. Be more competitive in this market. Have your Orient fans spread the good news about your product. I will anxiously wait for any color in this watch at around $300 or better like before.

  21. By Andrew on Oct 4, 2009

    I agree…great watch, but over-priced.

  23. By Matt on Oct 4, 2009

I love the watches, but I’m about to stop visiting this site due to ridiculous prices. Your “deals” used to be actual deals, and now they’re frequently higher than what can be found anywhere on the internet.

Get real, Orient. This isn’t a way to help your exposure.

  24. By Doug on Oct 4, 2009

Great looking watch, and one I’d love to add to my collection, but not at this price. I can find it elsewhere cheaper.

  25. By Kevin on Oct 4, 2009

Such a great looking watch! I really love the design, especially the nice clean bezel and the unique design of the semi-skel face. I am saving up my pennies for the blue face with the blue strap!

  26. By Vladimir on Oct 4, 2009

    Great watch by ORIENT.
However, just one disappointment, is its price. I hoped to see a true DOD price, maybe some other time.

  27. By Dave Sheleda on Oct 4, 2009

Hey, this watch is pretty awesome. Are you really gonna give one away? I would loooove to be the lucky one to win one of the coolest watches I’ve ever seen. Good luck, everyone.

  28. By Thomas on Oct 6, 2009

Yello dial. Nice. Stainless, the only way to go.

  29. By Michael Y on Oct 6, 2009

Nice watch design with skeleton feature makes it appealing. However, I do agree with the other posts that the price is a bit on the higher end.

  30. By Frank In Miami on Oct 7, 2009

I paid for this watch (Model CFT00004B) $300 delivered to my door from Orient Watch USA. Between July and August, they had 50% off coupons nearly every other week.

This is a fantastic timepiece as I posted earlier in this thread, but at $420 is a hard sell (Joey are you listening?).

Amazon, watches88.com, even Longislandwatch.com have better prices than the official Orient Watch USA “DOD”.

Sorry to keep harping on how 30% off is not a real deal. Once you give your customers the sugary spoon of 50% off discounts is very hard to justify paying 20% more for the same watch.

  31. By Ron Blackburn on Oct 9, 2009

Well Orient has done it again, I love the yellow dial, and as the normal Orient has added their logo on the back rotor, I think their logo adds a touch of class to the time piece, keep up the good work, Ron

  32. By The G on Oct 10, 2009

Very ntresting and stunning watch but too high a price to pay IMHO.

  33. By Ron on Jan 2, 2011

    what a beauty!
