Everything about the dial (face of the watch) stands out. For those of you who are far-sighted, you will greatly appreciate the magnifying lens located at the 6 o’clock position. This feature reduces eyestrain when seeing the date and day of the month.

For this automatic watch, the case comes in a very large rectangular shape. This allows for the bold numerals to stand out to the owner. An automatic watch has no batteries within the watch. It runs on the spring of the watch and stores power as it is being worn. If you view the side of the watch, you will also see the crystal dome of the case and the Orient logo engraved on the crown.

To adjust the date and the day, you must rotate the crown (time-setting knob) located at the 3 o’clock position. You will notice that there are two different levels to the crown. The 1st level corresponds to the date while the 2nd level corresponds to the time hands and the day of the week. Notice how the crown comes with shoulders for added protection.

Another feature that eliminates inconveniences is the luminescent hands and the hour indicators. The luminescent aspect allows you to see the specific time during the night without any trouble.

The caseback also has the official Orient logo engraved and is made of stainless steel and has a thickness of 15.4 millimeters, and is water resistant for 50M.

The clasp is a buckle that also has the Orient logo engraved on it.

Orient are really well made watches. I bought one at top street prices in Bologna years ago and it keeps on ticking. I recently found this sight and purchased the May watch. I got it in just a few days and it was perfect and impressive. I wish I bought 10! Tonight I bought the tank automatic watch with brown leather strap for a great price. So great was the price for such a nice and well-made watch, I emailed the ad to 25 colleagues and urged them to purchase before the deal ends. Honest company. When ORIENT gets better known here the prices will triple. Even at full retail, their prices for an automatic watch are a steal. Steal a watch!

Has anyone won a watch for commenting?

  6. By Donald on Jun 7, 2010

Beautiful but, probably the first Orient watch that is not exactly “me.”

  7. By Dale Beasley on Jun 7, 2010

    Beautiful design.

  8. By scoville on Jun 7, 2010

    I don’t know.

  9. By Todd on Jun 7, 2010

I like the white stitching on the band, and the arrangement of the day/date, but the magnifier is just a bit too funky for my tastes. Solid watch though.

  10. By Vladimir on Jun 7, 2010

The watch is a classic by ORIENT. Simple, yet solid. Not bad at all.

Nice watch but only 30% off for a DOD ain’t cutting it…..

  12. By Will on Jun 7, 2010

Big fan of the white back/blue dial of Orient designs.

  13. By Jon on Jun 7, 2010

Great band, but I would have liked more color in the face, maybe even a black on white instead of the white on white. Still beautiful and a good price.

  14. By Gregorio on Jun 7, 2010

this watch is not me, but it’s super sexy

  15. By dawn on Jun 7, 2010

i really like the watch, but the price is to rich for my blood.

  17. By patty hinckley on Jun 7, 2010

hellooo, does anyone have the time? i wish i had a watch.

  18. By Douglas Love on Jun 7, 2010

This watch isn’t for me either. I am more of a traditionalist.

  19. By Meg on Jun 7, 2010

I like this one! Bit more traditional but has a “funky” date magnifier that is cool/unique…good combo. Can see this being a bit hit this fall with dads.

  20. By Brian on Jun 7, 2010

Did someone say a free watch? :)
Something to complement the Blue Mako I have would be nice!

  21. By Pedro on Jun 8, 2010

Beautiful watch, I love the white face, the polished metal and the classic look. Does it come on a stainlesss steel band too?
I like the round ones, only that this one makes me reconsider that preference.
