The model’s dial offers useful attributes, such as the 24-hour subdial, a date indicator and a day subdial (located at the 11, 6 and 3 o’clock positions).

The luminescent hands and hour indicators of the CET06001B allow this model’s wearer to view the watch at any time of day or night. Since this watch is mechanical, the watch runs by the power in the spring of the watch. That means – no batteries! As the watch is being worn, it naturally stores power until it is stationary – perfect for someone always on the go. This watch is also water-resistant up to 50 meters – so no need to take it off in the shower!

The crown (that’s the time-setting knob) has two levels to it:

  1. Adjust the date by loosening the crown to the first level.
  2. Control the time and subdials by the second level of the crown.

To change the day subdial:

  1. Rotate the crown until the day-hand pivots.
  2. Bring the hour-hand back to the 12 o’clock position.
  3. Turn the hand clockwise, and it’s set.

The combination of both matte and finished links creates a very intricate look.

The wearer of this watch need not worry about its coming off by accident – the deployment clasp ensures protection.

Inexpensive, 6-eater date, sunken sub dials, applied markers/numerals, red tipped second hand…what’s not to like?

  3. By Todd on Aug 3, 2009

I love this watch because it has a fairly uncommon day/date system. Having the subdial and 6 o’clock window makes it much more interesting than the classic 2 windows at 3 o’clock. I just ordered a different color scheme of this watch and I can’t wait for it to arrive.

Looks like this watch has solid end links, a huge plus at this price. Love the domed crystal and the dial is really exquisite. The 24 hour subdial makes adjusting the watch much easier as you don’t have to guess whether you are in AM or PM when setting the time. I love the mostly brushed bracelet links with the discreetly polished upper center part of the link. I like the caseback with the laser etched Orient logo.

Lovely piece. Who could ask for anything more at $89 shipped to your door?

Classic and Simplicity have been always trademarked by ORIENT. Another fine timepiece by ORIENT.

  6. By Stephen on Aug 3, 2009

can the 24 hour dial be adjusted separately to indicate the the 2nd time zone?

  7. By Jobee on Aug 3, 2009

Wow, beautiful watch. I like the simple design and clean lines. In for 1!

  8. By Frank In Miami on Aug 3, 2009

Stephen, I don’t think so. The 24 hour subdial is tied directly to the main hour hand so no chance to set it up for a second time zone.

If you want that, Orient either offers a GMT automatic under their Racing collection or one of the fine world time watches from the CEY and CFA series.

I live in Canada and I know you don’t ship there, but is there anyway I can get Orient deals like this to Canada?

Love the face, love the size. My only wish (and a minor one at that) is for a different band, there are many others that I really like more than this one.

Any chance of getting CEM75001B as the deal of the day? Many thanks, Orient has excellent products!!!

There are many watches which are water-resistant up to 50 meters – so no need to take it off in the shower!
