ORIENT CDB05001T Automatic Watch

The cdb0500 series is a very sophisticated line. With sapphire crystal and
the textured dial it is easy to see why this series stands out when compared to
other Orient lines.

Notice the hour markers which line the inner portion of the dial and the
outer markers allowing you to tell time by the second.

The dial also offers open windows which allow the user to see the complex
pieces which power this beautiful time piece. Please note that the color of this
watch is best reflected in the first photo which is the stock photo.

The band is made of stainless steel.

Another great attribute of this watch is that it is an automatic and is powered by the motion of your wrist. No more dead batteries.

The screw down skeleton case back is made of solid stainless steel. The
crystal used on the back of this time piece is a sapphire crystal.

This allows you to see the Rotor as it

The clasp used on this model is a fold over push button to ensure the watch does
not come off unintentionally.

I’ve been following this Orient DoD site for a while now. This is the most beautiful watch I’ve seen so far. I really like the classic look. It fits my personality well. I just wish the discount was greater so I can finally push the button and make a purchase. I’d like to make a purchase.

    This is one good-looking watch

  4. By OrientWatchUSA.com on Aug 7, 2009

This watch is not available in our collection on Orientwatchusa.

  5. By Frank In Miami on Aug 7, 2009

I have seen this watch listed at Orient’s international site under the “Classic Automatic” line:

There are six dial color variations to choose from and I like them all.

I hope that Orient Watch USA will offer all six dial colors eventually.

This is a drop dead gorgeous piece. And I really like the brown dial. In fact, I have noticed that brown dials are becoming popular again in men’s watches as other manufacturers have recently introduce them too.

Sapphire crystal front and back, open heart, gorgeous hands, awesome bracelet, (Although it doesn’t appear to have solid links or solid end links either), beautiful textured dial….I mean what else can you ask for in a dressy watch at this price?

Two small caveats: No date window and the watch is just a tad small at 38.5mm but I guess this is the perfect size for a dress piece.

This is quite a watch. I love the brown dial, the exhibition windows, the band, the see through back, and the style. Unfortunately, the lack of date is a deal breaker for me on this watch.

I’m glad to see you’re offering some watches that aren’t available from the “usual” places. Variety is the spice of life!

  8. By Frank In Miami on Aug 7, 2009

Orient Watch USA, I would love to see this power reserve, date window, and crown at 4 0′clock position Orient Automatic featured here sometime:

  9. By Jobee on Aug 7, 2009

Wow, this watch is incredible! You guys are killing me with these outstanding buys. I have 5 Orients, this will make my 6th. Thanks!

  10. By Vladimir on Aug 7, 2009

Great watch. It does need the power reserve indicator and a date to be perfect. Otherwise, it is a wonderful timepiece by ORIENT.

  11. By Joe on Aug 7, 2009

After learning about Orient watches on ablogtoread.com and seeing this deal…looks like I’ll be an Orient owner before the end of the year. That is one beautiful watch at a great price. Looks a little too similar to my Tag Carrera though, no point in doubling up styles.

  12. By Jason on Aug 7, 2009

I’ll throw out a request for the CFD0F003W or 4W watch, not that I expect to see it on here anytime soon…

  13. By Jason on Aug 7, 2009

@Frank In Miami, did you see that Orient Watch USA has that one (the CFD0E001B one) listed on their website…

  14. By RobG on Aug 7, 2009

I like Jason’s first link, just in the mood for symmetry :) The rotor on this one looks a bit…thin stamped foil and flimsy?

  15. By Frank In Miami on Aug 8, 2009

Jason, thank you. Love the design but my only quibble is that the metal bracelets appear to be made of folded links, not solid.

  16. By Howard on Aug 10, 2009

I couldn’t hold off anymore and ordered this one. The sapphire crystal secured the deal for me. The color is beautiful as well as the exhibition caseback. The solid SS bracelet is awesome. The only other things I would like on this watch are date and power reserve meter, but then that may overcrowd the face and throw off the look.
This is my 3rd Orient. I love the fact that this is a unique model that couldn’t be bought from orientalwatchusa.com. This will probably become my everyday watch, especially during the fall/winter seasons because the dial color matches my wardrobe.

  17. By Howard on Aug 14, 2009

I just received this watch and I have to say that this is probably the most beautiful watch I’ve ever put on my wrist thus far. This watch will be getting a lot of wrist time. These pictures does it no justice. The box I received is not the same as the one in these photos. These photos show the same box as the other 2 Orients I purchased a while ago. The one that came with this watch is much nicer with a premium feel to it.

Would love to pull the trigger but just a bit expensive considering no power resrve and date, got any 20%-25% coupon codes to seal the deal?

  22. By aliotsy on Sep 27, 2009

Beautiful brown face. Love the skeleton front and back, but I wish the opening at 3 o’clock was for a date window.

  23. By Dave S on Sep 27, 2009

This is quite a watch! A sapphire crystal automatic for $200?

Is there any chance of getting this in black or blue?

  24. By Nick on Sep 27, 2009

Excellent! A watch that ISN’T available at the orientwatchusa.com website! I hope this is the start of a trend.
Now, the watch I’d REALLY like to see as a DOD is any of the 200M Orient Star diver automatics models WZ0351FD (black), WZ0391FD (yellow) and WZ0361FD (blue). Or the black/rose gold Orient Star Retro-Future camera model.
And maybe I’ll win the lottery, too.

  25. By Nick on Sep 27, 2009

    And one more thing…
There are so many comments from Orient owners about the poor photography of the watches at the website. I agree totally with those comments — The photos are pathetic, without exception.
Please add a zoom feature; and multiple views; but most of all, get a new photographer so that the photos show what the watches REALLY look like!
The current photos are unprofessional, cheap-looking, and the lack of the most elemental photo features harm the Orient brand.
    Rant over.

I am overwhelmed by the quality and unique style of this timepiece. This would be a perfect watch for my husband, for our wedding anniversary. The way the economy is now, I am thrilled to see that ORIENT watches are affordable. This watch is absolutely magnificent, and does not even compare to the best selling watches out there. I am telling everyone I know about this selection!

This watch would look very nice on my husband.

These watches are beautiful, sleek and very professional looking. I also feel like it would accessorize as jewelry with the right outfit. Thumbs up

This watch is beautiful. I would love to be able to get this as a gift for my beloved. Hopefully soon I’ll be able to do so.

looking foward to my second watch! just love them!!

  32. By BaiBai on Sep 27, 2009

The in-house movement, signed crown, see-through back, open windows and texture on the dial, and the sapphire crystal made this an irresistible deal for me. Although I need a brown dial, I ended up opting for the blue dial.

As usual, this watch looks far, far better in person. And it looks even better on my 6.5″ wrist.

My son, who has a 6.0″ wrist circumference, also wears this on special occasions and it looks good on him as well. He takes care of the nice things he owns, so I’m not worried about him scratching it up, especially with the sapphire crystal.

In other words, this is a very versatile dress watch with broad appeal.

    Wow! Nice!

  35. By csfoong on Dec 10, 2009

I have just bought this timepiece and it’s a beauty! Nice size without being too large. Being a dress watch, it has no lume on the indices or hands :(

However, I think the crystal used on the back is not sapphire cyrstal as it just says “Top Glass Sapphire Crystal”. Correct me if I am wrong.
