This family of Orient watches is an intriguing collection of automatic timepieces. The most interesting feature of this watch is the use of 21 jewels in the most sensitive areas of the watch’s mechanics. This reduces friction in the movement of the watch, which allows for a more accurate time. Since this watch is mechanical, it is powered through the spring of the watch. As the watch is being worn, it will power itself. However, the watch will use its power once it remains still.

The dial (face of the watch) has many stand-out features that you will enjoy.
You will notice that the bezel (outer ring of the watch) has a coined edge for
added texture and style. The bezel is 60 clicks and uni-directional, which means that it rotates in one direction. The rotating bezel allows the owner to view how much
time has passed by adjusting the indicator to the minute hand.

At the 3 o’clock position, you will see that there is a magnifying glass that overlooks the date indicator. To adjust the date, you must rotate the crown (time-setting piece). The crown has 2 different levels to it that adjusts the date and the time. The first level will correspond to the date, while the second level will adjust the time. Another interesting feature of this watch is its luminescent hands. This allows you to view your watch during the evening and underwater.

The crown for this watch comes with shoulders for added protection from
physical damage. When you are swimming or going scuba-diving, water will not
enter the case for up to 10 bars, which is equivalent to 100 meters.

Classic and classy watch. Looks like it would make a pretty bold statement. Great price too…

  3. By Steven on Jul 12, 2009

It’s a great homage to a classic design.

  4. By Douglas on Jul 12, 2009

I’m not sure about the dual-tone band. But, the dial color is gorgeous.

  5. By E. Marques on Jul 12, 2009

It seems very comfortable to wear and it is a classic. Great watch for a great price!

  6. By RobG on Jul 12, 2009

Agree with Douglas, great dial color.

I happen to have a white/yellow gold wedding band (it’s wide) and this color scheme would definitely compliment it. Thanks for not using a weak magnifier too, my eyes are getting too old for weak ones.

  7. By Vladimir on Jul 12, 2009

This is an ORIENT’s piece of history. A true classic watch. Great price for the masterpiece.

  8. By Wilson C on Jul 13, 2009

Nice two tone watch. It’s classic at the same time sporty. It’s just look like Rolex Submariner except the price. Overall the price is excellent with very good design and quality.

  9. By Jose J. Martinez on Jul 13, 2009

Excellent, I think this is going to be a very popular watch. Japanese reliability honoring Swiss looks.

  10. By Jose J. Martinez on Jul 13, 2009

Japanese reliability in Swiss classic looks.

  11. By Brad Smith on Jul 14, 2009

I like the shape and face design of this watch, but I’m not a big fan of two-tone.

  12. By mohamed ALyousef on Sep 10, 2009

great watch and design , its really amizaing and look like Rolex Submariner watch wooow really i like it , i try to buy it from UAE agency but they said we dont have this model.

  13. By Greg on Sep 18, 2009

I really like the two tone of this watch. Another winner for Orient!

  14. By Chris on Sep 18, 2009

A classic design and a fabulous Rolex Sub homage.

I think it’d look better with an all stainless bracelet though. It doesn’t seem to match the clasp, but otherwise, not too bad.

The deal somewhat poor because you can get similar models without the gold trim on Amazon (an Authorized Dealer) for less. The black bezel/black dial is at $130.50 and the black bezel/blue dial is at $98.80

  15. By David on Sep 18, 2009

I want a special introductory offer! This watch is nice but if I wanted a submariner I would buy one.

  16. By Eric on Sep 18, 2009

Looks like my dads submariner, which I love. Probably nicer than most Rolex knock-offs available online.

  17. By kat reid on Sep 18, 2009

I think it looks pretty balla

  18. By Dmitry Kruchkov on Sep 18, 2009

my dad would love this watch my grandfather had alot of watchs this watch is close to one of his

  23. By Damon B. on Sep 18, 2009

Love this watch! — Classic Sub look with a beautiful coin edge bezel in gold for that little something extra when dressed up.
Especially appreciate the auto movement beating at 21,600 ocillations, providing that sought-after second hand sweep effect. Can’t go wrong at $154.

  24. By Jon on Sep 18, 2009

Although the look of this watch w/o the two-tone is a decent design, the two-tone itself is very distracting and at least in the picture it looks like a cheap gas station watch in my opinion. Hopefully it looks a lot better in person otherwise this watch is definitely not on par with the rest of the orient line which are some of the most distinguished watches I have ever owned.

  25. By mitzi on Sep 18, 2009

    woderful, better than rolex

  26. By Benjamin on Sep 18, 2009

Yeah. I feel the color (at least on my screen) is not attractive at all. Not my cup of tea.

  27. By Tim on Sep 18, 2009

A nice homage to the Submariner and the accents are quite interesting. Much better effort than Invicta’s, IMHO.

  28. By Victor on Sep 18, 2009

I love the classic submariner look, the two tone gives it a more dressed up look for business. Ny decision is between the blue or black dial. My favorite watch at present is my blue Mako, and its the one that gets the most admiring comments.

  29. By Hiram Martin on Sep 18, 2009

This watch belongs on my wrist! I love it and would wear it everywhere!

  30. By gowri on Sep 18, 2009

    this watch looks attractive look

  31. By gowri on Sep 18, 2009

    This watch looks attractive.

  32. By Jobee on Sep 18, 2009

I much prefer the silver tones, but my father is a huge fan of the gold accent. I’m going to send him this link and suggest that he buy.

  33. By Maxine on Sep 18, 2009

I love these watches. I buy a new one every year!!!

  34. By Frank In Miami on Sep 18, 2009

I don’t like gold watches or gold tones in them. So damn 1970s that is not even funny. Amazing how manufacturers still offer gold toned watches. These are by far and large out of fashion and out of date.

The watch itself is nice, but I don’t like cyclops on the crystal and much less so homages of any kind.

I’ll stick with my Mako, thank you very much.

  35. By Julie Coon on Sep 18, 2009

I really love these watches. I am going to buy one for my husband for Christmas this year.

  39. By Angela Ward on Sep 18, 2009

These watches are nice, but expensive, and my husband does not like gold. If these were a little more affordable, I could possibly buy one as a gift, or be able to pass the word on to other military families and friends that we know.

Just got one, looks AWESOME, and I have read nothing but good things about this watch and this company.

  46. By Mary Beth Siegert on Sep 18, 2009

Cool! I love the quality and fine detail! Would make a great gift.

  47. By David Haskett on Sep 21, 2009

I love the ” Rolex ” look and price is just right for an everyday watch but that special look.

  48. By Daniel Phan on Oct 21, 2009

Prefer the non-gold version but this watch is a beauty! Orient Power!

  49. By MikeyTX on Dec 2, 2009

Wonder how well the gold holds up ?

  50. By Tamara Viola on Dec 14, 2009

Love the dial face, very classy!

  51. By RG Mich on Jan 15, 2010

I like the look and the price, but I agree with other commentors that a 100% stainless bracelet would have been a better choice. If you want “gold” center links, please cover the backside of those links also.

  52. By alex on Jan 15, 2010

Are Orient watches made in Japan or is just the movement made in Japan?

  53. By iamshimone on Jan 16, 2010

Found out about these watches from Hodinkee. Nice to see some automatic movements at affordable prices but I’m not a fan of the Rolexalike style. Definitely interested in the others though.

  54. By GerryMac on Jan 17, 2010

a little less than a submariner, too :)

  55. By Eric W. on Jan 17, 2010

I would love this watch! It has a great movement!

  56. By Panos A. on Jan 18, 2010

Some of the best watches for the money are right here…

  57. By S.L. on Mar 28, 2010

I just ordered this watch from Amazon, so I guess an intro offer is redundant but.

I did a lot of research on Orient before buying this watch and I like what I found. I bought a similar watch by another mfg. and really got burned on that one. Hence the research before buying again.

I’m really looking forward to getting this watch this week.

As for style, I prefer the classic looks. Like RayBan Aviators, and Submariner style watches. We’ll see how this one stacks up.

  58. By C.Lee on Dec 21, 2010

I just bought this watch 2ER00003B. It is very nice. Just the right size and weight for my hand. Its very accurate.

My complaint is the band (bracelet).
it feels cheap and light. AND the edges of the band are too sharp, and CUT the skin. I am very disappointed with the band, and expect better quality from Orient.

  59. By Win on Mar 27, 2011

Wow, nice watch, what a deal!
