New Vintage! The Orient Bambino FER2400BW.
October 2nd, 2013 | 3 CommentsThe latest from Orient is the FER2400BW Bambino. We’re really digging the vintage, classic look.
What sets it apart from the previous version? Here’s the quick (TL;DR) list:
- The Roman Numerals instead of baton markers
- The train track-like chapter ring
- The crown is now antique styled!
So its got the same sized case and same domed dial. Here’s a side by side look:

I’ve been waiting for this style to reappear for years. Seiko produced one (diashock) and Orient made one number of years ago, but they all disappeared off the market – highly sought after. After many years trawling ebay I will now be able to order a nice new one. Thanks for this, Orient.

Many watch and clock manufacturers have Roman Numerals ‘exploded’ and becoming inverted in the lower part of the dial, which I find ugly. Here VI and VIII cannot be confused with any uttering in Russian, particularly the Cyrillic ‘L’, which can look like an inverted ‘V’, which is also a Slavic ’1′.
So, I thus conclude this design of Roman Numerals dial is instantly readable due to its proper Orientation.

I have the Rose Gold Bambino and it is a very classic style. I love the rounded crystal. In this price range this is the only watch I’ve been able to find with this configuration. While the watch is not very expensive the quality is superb! Don’t forget these are automatic watches, what a value! I can’t wait to get the new Bambino FER2400. It is a beautiful watch.
