Besides Groundhog’s and Valentine’s Day, February is a pretty bland month. Nothing can spice it up like a nice list of Orient’s bestselling men’s automatic watches, right?

Whether you’re looking for a new automatic watch or your first automatic watch, be sure to check out these bestsellers before making your final decision:

CEM65002D a.k.a. Blue Mako

The Blue Mako is part of Orient’s Diver collection, so it has more gadgets and features than the other two bestsellers.

The most unique feature on the Blue Mako is the dial. Don’t be mistaken by pictures; the dial isn’t just a plain, old navy blue. The lacquer finish allows light to catch the dial and bezel, showing off an array of eye-catching shades of blue.

Of course, that’s not the only appealing feature of the Blue Mako.

Here are some other good things to consider:

  • Fully automatic watch
  • In-house movements
  • 200m water resistance
  • 40-hr Power Reserve
  • Stainless steel case and rotating bezel
  • Mineral crystal
  • 41mm diameter x 13mm thickness
  • Stainless steel or urethane band
  • Luminous hands and hour increments (i.e. readable in complete darkness)
  • $190 price tag

If blue isn’t for you, then check out these other Mako dial colors:

  • Black
  • Orange
  • “Pepsi” (blue with red and blue bezel)
  • “Bumble bee” (bright yellow)

Upon receiving his Blue Mako, one Orient customer said, “It’s clearly one of those times you’re happy like a child,” which sums up the sheer joy of owning a Blue Mako.

CEV09002W

The CEV09002W is part of Orient’s Executive collection. The classic and elegant appearance can be a nice, subtle addition to any watch collection. Not to mention, it’s suitable for formal or casual occasions.

Some other perks of the CEV09002W:

  • Fully automatic watch
  • In-house movements
  • 50m water resistance
  • Stainless steel case
  • Mineral crystal
  • 36mm diameter x 11mm thickness
  • Durable, comfortable leather band
  • Luminous hands
  • $120 price tag

You can also find variations of the CEV09002W with a stainless steel band and/or a black or blue dial.

Customers have said that they like this watch because its simple dial doesn’t distract from its main function as a timepiece (i.e. it’s not as gadget-y as the Mako).

CET05001W

The CET05001W is another watch from Orient’s Executive collection. My favorite part of this watch is its textured face. It’s almost like a fingerprint or a subtle optical illusion. The elegant, antique leaf hands, day/date indicator and 24-hour clock are also noteworthy traits of this men’s automatic watch.

Here are the specs:

  • Fully automatic watch
  • In-house movements
  • 50m water resistance
  • Stainless steel case and band
  • Mineral crystal
  • 42mm diameter x 13mm thickness
  • Luminous hands
  • $160 price tag

The CET05001W dial is also available in black or blue.

Many customers noted, “This timepiece is a work of art.”

I’m a fan of the OrientStar series, though they’ve always been out of my price range… The CET05001D or CEM65002D are more my style (or anything blue for that matter). Still deciding on which I’d like to buy though — so many choices!

I have owned the blue Mako for almost two months now and have to say it is one of the nicest watches for the money. The dial has to be seen to believed. No pics seem do it justice. At its price it is no wonder that this watch is a bestseller. The quality and finish cannot be found in any other watch in this price range.

Accuracy has settled down to a consistent +8 sec. a day. Not bad at all. I could have paid thousands more to get worse.

I would love to see a version with a sapphire crystal available, as I’m sure many others would too. Overall, a very good value and a fine looking timepiece.

Hi, I just thought you’d like to know that my watch still meets my expectations of the ideal mechanical watch. Plus it looks great on my wrist. Thanks.
