Marky Mark and the Watchy Bunch

November 2nd, 2011 | 5 Comments

We just couldn’t help ourselves with that title :)

It’s time again to dig deep into the psyche of Mark Kim! Just kidding of course, only questions regarding Orient and a little bit of fun stuff!

We asked Mark what he thought when he saw someone wearing an Orient watch:

“It was a discerning choice. Going mechanical is a deliberate choice and considered ‘better’ by those who are well educated in watches. When you go mechanical (i.e. automatic movements) you are choosing to be different. This is what I think about Orient.”

We also got the chance to ask him where he saw Orient Watch in the future:

“Orient is built on a foundation of tradition, and I hope that in the future, they remain true to their heritage. Orient is and will remain Japan’s most important and largest mechanical watch company.”

Sounds good to us! Remember to stay tuned for more installments of our interviews with owner operator Mark Kim.

You guys still stuck in the 90s huh? Lol. I didn’t even know you guys were the largest producer of mechanical watches in Japan!

I agree with what Mark stated above. Orients use of in house movements puts them into a high class of watch maker. Very few companies these days use their own movements. Love my Orient watch and hope to purchase another in the coming months!
