Mark Says…

October 5th, 2011 | 9 Comments

Time for round two of our interviews with Mark Kim, Owner operator of orientwatchusa.com. Again, we feel privileged having the chance to get to personally talk with Mark and we want to share that with all of you Orient fans out there.

Would you believe that his favorite actor is Arnold Schwarzenegger? One of the famous action stars of our time. And when he’s not working out to Arnie’s 1980′s workout videos, Mark likes to race his motorcycle or play golf.  Mark is a well-rounded man.

We also asked Mark what some of his innovations at Orient are:

“We went direct online. In the past, Orient has tried to sell through stores without success because of the lack of watch knowledge among retailers and struggles in advertising. What orientwatchusa.com has provided is the first recognized channel for Orient watches in the United States. We are happy because we feel that this model can grow the brand and provide a useful platform for people to learn about Orient and about watches.”

Stay tuned for more updates on Mark Kim’s unique character and be sure to follow him on Twitter.

i agree with his statement of not having enough watch knowledge about orient being a reputable brand.

the orient and orient star watches certainly have good value for money and the designs are very modern, like the king diver reissue

Orient is just as good as those top swiss brands… too many people are under the marketing though.

    Mark,

Going direct seems like a smart move – certainly hope you pull it off.

YouTube + Amazon + SEO + Tons of quality educational content are the way to go!

I was pleasantly surprised by Orient and Orient Star Watches, no to mention the Orient Royal line which seems to be unavailable in the US at the time. The Orient Classic GMT and the Orient Star Retrograde look classy. I hope that through Orient USA, Americans will be able to get access to these superb watches which are yet reasonably priced soon.
