My mother is an artist.  Her watch takes a lot of abuse.  Here is how the mineral crystal looked when I got it:

She was so happy she cried.  I was sort of embarrassed but apparently my sister gave her that watch when my mother graduated from KC Fine Arts Institute.  So there was a lot of sentimental value.
