It is an international model
Comes in black, blue and orange dial colors.
All variants come with oyster style bracelet
It is not an ISO certified dive watch although it is rated with W.R 200m.
Diameter is 44 to 45mm. Same size as the Seiko Sumo
Lug width is 22mm.
Screw in crown (unsigned)
Solid screw in case-back.
60-click bezel (rotates counter-clockwise)
Flat crystal.

Another attempt to provide you with a honest and complete review.
As I opened the package I really did not know what to expect, same packaging nothing new there, so on to the first look. My actual words were WOW this is a big watch.

Not your Daddy's Mako for sure, and as I removed it from the box I was again shocked at the weight of this model. This is one hefty model. The fit and finish are typacle of Orient. I ask myself what does this remind me of? Tough one for me, I see some of the big R and some of the O but there is still that Orient feel .

One sharp watch...
I kept thinking this feels so much bigger than the Mako check out the lugs and this band.
Posted Image
OK so just how much difference is there from the one we have come to love called Mako.

Well there is a big difference and I like what I am seeing, Lets take a look at the inside of this big boy.

Oh my no plastic in here and the gasket is healthy as well.

It is going to be hard to find fault with this one but let me address some of the issues I think you may have. First for those of you that think the day pusher is a problem I must say I have felt the same in the past but the design of this one is well done with a lot of thought. As you see the pusher is at best 3mm above the case and upon pushing it in I find there is a lot of pressure required to push it down and also it does not change the day until the last MM or so. I tried to get it it change day just by wiping or bending my wrist but it was just not an issue. The crown might be a tad small but I had no problem as it has nice threads and is quite smooth. I must say the lume is not up to my standard, it is just OK, it appears that they used a different formula and it has a lot of white cast to it in the day light, it is very easy to read in day but it will fade faster than the Mako. In all Orient did a good job of addressing the market for those that want a larger watch. If it is priced within 80 dollars or so of a Mako it will be a great buy. The clasp and band I have to comment on,,  they are one of the best I have seen on Orient.I have a few more shots to share with you and I hope this will be of benefit to any considering this model.
Enjoy

Thanks for the excellent and timely review Gary. That looks like one BIG watch. I will be interested to hear how your wrist feels after several days of wear.

Any inside info on availability?

Thanks Gary...   Looks very good.  Like the idea of retaining the pusher but making it less of a feature...  :D

Great review Gary!  Thanks for taking the time.  I agree, it does look like a mash-up between a Sub and PO.

A few thoughts:

Has Orient started using the metal movement ring on the OS 300M sat diver?  If it is in this entry sports diver, there is no excuse to keep using that plastic ring on the professional diver.

The bracelet looks similar to the Mako bracelet.  Are the spring bars thicker?  With the massive size of this watch, I hope the issue of bent springbars with the MAko does not become more serious with this one.

That clasp is the same one that is on my CER1A.  I don't know if the Mako has it.  It is very nice with a solid mechanism.

The Orient part number for the spring bar is OA-160-2200. I assume that is 1.60mm x 22mm ... same as the Mako. If I buy one of these, will definitely make the same mod I did with my Makos ... Borel sells a nice 1.80mm drill bit.

Awesome review, thank you for taking the time and energy to put that together!   :)

One question that I have is regarding the dial color.  Is the blue dial the exact same as the one used on the blue Mako?  It definitely appears to be the case judging by the photos, but I thought I'd ask anyhow.

Gary - excellent review!!  I really wish I could afford to pick one of these up.. they are super sharp and a blue one would nicely replace my Sub that I gave to my brother recently - his first Orient!   :D

I do have to admit though, I'm not in love with the thick lugs.. I think they could have easily gotten away with using 24mm lugs on this watch, and that would open up so many possibilities for strap changes!    ;)

How difficult would it be to modify the case to accept 24mm straps/bracelets (remove 1mm from the inside of each lug)?

I would like to ask your suggestion. Is it worth to have besides Old Blue Mako? Or should I still stay with Old Blue Mako? What's your suggestion for me in choosing between 75001B or 75002D (blue one)?

Thank's
Wishnu

I would go for the Blue, just remember it is a large watch and the lume may be a disappointment.

I went on a spending spree recently and picked up both an Orange Mako and a New Blue Mako, and I must say I love the New Mako, in blue. I don't have huge wrists, but I am 210Lbs, so a bigger watch seems to feel natural, and this watch is not over large at all. It blends on my wrist wonderfully.

I like the sliced shaping of the case by the lugs, and the bigger markers. I like the drop of the band from the lugs straight down under the wrist, something that isn't evident in most off-the-wrist photos very well. Overall it has greater presence than the original mako.

I was intrigued enough by it to get a 300m as well. Now that is a big watch. Seems like the 75001 is a nice middle ground.
