Orient’s CFT0000 Racing Watches are among some of the most popular timepieces from Orient Watch USA.
In this article, we’ll take a closer look at what’s special about the CFT00001B.

In-house movement
Like all Orient Automatics, the CFT00001B has a 100% in-house movement.
This means that Orient doesn’t use outsourced movements as many other leading watch companies do (e.g. Omega, Breguet, IWC).

An Orient in-house movement also means:
- High-quality, luxury watch
- Orient specific, not generic
- Sincere watchmaking craftsmanship
Remember, watchmaking begins with a movement. If a watch company doesn’t produce their own movement, should they really be considered watchmakers?
Power Reserve
The CFT0000 watches have a Power Reserve of about 42 hours. This is the average for Orient’s Automatic Watches. Like many other Orients, the CFT00001B has a Power Reserve indicator fashioned after a fuel gauge.
The PR indicator allows you, the wearer, to know when your watch needs charging. And it’s especially easy to charge an automatic watch because all you have to do is wear it.
In case you didn’t know, one of the major perks to automatic watches is that they wind based on the movement of your wrist. No manual winding or batteries necessary.

Other features
Let’s check out some other good things about the Orient CFT00001B.
Sapphire crystal and skeleton case back
Sapphire crystal, as opposed to mineral crystal, is desirable on a watch because it’s both hard and scratch-resistant. The CFT00001B uses sapphire crystal with an anti-reflective coating because sapphire tends to be very shiny.
As an added bonus, Orient has created a skeleton case back on the CFT0000 watches. So in addition to the semi-skeleton dial, you will also be able to clearly see the intricate inner-workings of these watches via the case back.

Stainless steel case
The CFT00001B uses a stainless steel case. Stainless steel is a common choice on watches because it’s durable, sturdy and corrosion-resistant. Not to mention, it’s easy to clean and polish.
Unlike the other CFT0000 watches, the CFT00001B has a genuine leather band that gives the watch a more casual feel.
Water resistance
The CFT0000s have 100m water resistance. While this wouldn’t be good for diving, you can still safely swim, snorkel or spill water on this watch.
However, no matter the water resistance, avoid showering while wearing your watch. Soap or shampoo can cause build-ups and damage your timepiece.
Racing-inspired look
I think the CFT00001B has the most racing-inspired appearance. The use of red and white details on a black backdrop resemble more closely a car dashboard than the other styles in the series.

This is the best watch ever!!! I’ve been wearing the watch since I got it (1 week ago) and I cant stop staring at him. The details in the front are a masterpiece of art. This is my first Automatic Watch and I’m glad it’s an Orient. I’m 100% sure isn’t going to be the last one.
Good Job Orient!
